PTE Explained

The Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic) is a fully computer-based English proficiency exam lasting approximately 2 hours to 2 hours and 15 minutes. It evaluates four core language skills across three main sections and is scored on a scale from 10 to 90 points.

PTE Academic accurately measures the listening, reading, speaking and writing skills of test takers, whose native language is not English and who have to prove their academic English proficiency. It tests participants' language skills for universities, higher education institutions, government departments, and institutions requiring academic English. The test is:

• Fast - results are typically available within 2 days.

• Global - there are test centers all around the world.

• Practical - the exam is completed in a single 3 hour sitting
